Privacy policy

The Vastu Home ("we," "us") runs thevastuhome.com. This page explains what information the site collects, what it doesn't collect, and how we use it. The Vastu Home is operated by TVH79 LLC, New York.

The short version

• You don't need an account to use the site, and we don't set advertising or analytics cookies.
• The site counts a few anonymous events, like which Shop item was clicked. These counts never include your name, your email or anything you type.
• If you join the audit waitlist, your details reach us only when you send the email your own mail app opens.
• When you click through to Amazon, Amazon may place or recognize cookies.
• We don't sell your personal information.

What we collect

The audit waitlist (/book-audit). The waitlist form asks for your name, your email, your city/timezone and an optional note about your listing or floor plan. The form doesn't send anything to our servers. When you press a waitlist button, your own email app opens a pre-filled message to thevastuhome@proton.me with those details and the home type you picked (apartment or house). We only receive them if you send that email. If you add anything else, such as a listing link or a sketch, we receive that too.

Emails you send us. If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever your message contains.

Anonymous site events. To learn which pages and Shop items are useful, the site's own code sends a small event to our server when you:

• click "View on Amazon" on a Shop card (we record the Shop item number, for example sku-05)
• click "See in Shop" on a guide or case page
• press a waitlist button (we count the click, never what you typed)
• open, scroll or leave an apartment case page (we count that it happened; how long the page was open and whether you scrolled are used only to count quick exits, then discarded)

Each event also includes the page address (for example /shop) and whether your screen is phone-sized or larger. Events don't include your name, your email, form entries, a cookie or a visitor ID. We add them into counts, such as clicks per Shop item, and we don't keep a history for any one visitor. The counts are kept in our server's memory. Our host may run more than one copy of the server, each copy keeps its own counts, and those counts are lost whenever that copy shuts down, which can happen at any time. We don't store your IP address or browser details with these events.

Hosting logs. The site is hosted by Vercel. Like most hosts, Vercel automatically processes technical data when your browser loads a page, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used to deliver the site and keep it secure. Vercel's request logs for this site are kept for about one hour and aren't sent to any other logging service. Vercel handles this data under its own privacy notice.

Purchases. Nothing is sold on this site today. The floor-plan audit is a waitlist only, with no checkout and no file upload. If paid audits open later, a payment processor will handle payment, and we'll update this page before we accept any payment. We won't store your full card number.

Amazon and other sites

Shop links go to Amazon.com. We take part in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Third parties, including Amazon and other advertisers, may provide content and advertising, collect information directly from visitors, and place or recognize cookies on visitors' browsers. Our links are plain links, and we don't send Amazon your name, your email or anything else you've given us. Amazon's own privacy notice applies on Amazon.

Cookies

Our pages don't set cookies today, and they don't load third-party analytics, advertising or social media scripts. If that changes, for example if we add a checkout or a new analytics tool, we'll update this page first. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. That includes cookies Amazon sets after you click through.

Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. Our site doesn't change how it works when it receives one, and neither do the anonymous event counts or the hosting logs described above. We don't track you across other websites, and our pages don't load third-party tracking scripts today. Once you click through to Amazon, Amazon's practices apply.

How we use information

• To run, secure and improve the site
• To reply to messages
• To invite waitlist members when the audit opens. Every invitation will include an easy way to opt out, and you can ask to be removed at any time.
• To deliver anything you buy from us, once purchases exist

We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.

Who handles data for us

• Vercel: hosts the site and processes request logs.
• Proton Mail: our mailbox at thevastuhome@proton.me, which receives waitlist and contact emails.
• Payment processor: none today.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

• Event totals: kept in server memory, on each copy of the server, until that copy shuts down. They don't identify you.
• Waitlist and contact emails: kept until the audit opens and you've been invited, or until you ask us to delete them, and no longer than 24 months after your last message.
• Hosting logs: about one hour.

Your choices

• Write to us to see, correct or delete your waitlist details or any email you've sent us.
• Ask to leave the waitlist at any time.
• Block or clear cookies in your browser.

Children

This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We may update this page. The date at the top shows the latest version.
